Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies Flower Puss sets, what each one is for, how long it lasts, and how you turn the optional ones on and off. There are four categories and no others. Only the strictly necessary category runs without your consent. This Policy forms part of, and should be read with, our Privacy Policy.

1. What This Policy Covers

Flower Puss Pty Ltd (ABN 93 684 368 401) operates the Flower Puss websites and applications (the “Services”). In this Policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Flower Puss Pty Ltd. Flower Puss is the only contracting party.

This Policy applies to everyone who visits the Services, whether or not you have an account. It covers you as a Member (a verified adult who accesses or purchases Content), as a Creator (a verified adult who supplies Content to Flower Puss), and as a visitor who is only reading this page.

Personal information collected through cookies is handled under our Privacy Policy, which is governed by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

🌏 The same controls, everywhere

Our cookie controls are available to every visitor in every country. We do not switch them on for some regions and off for others, and there is nothing on this page that applies only “where required by law”. We build to the higher standard globally.

2. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and a small number of closely related technologies. Where this Policy says “cookies”, it means all of them.

CookieA small text file stored by your browser and sent back to the site that set it.
Session cookieA cookie that is deleted when you close your browser.
Persistent cookieA cookie that stays on your device until it expires or you delete it.
First-party cookieA cookie set by Flower Puss on a Flower Puss domain.
Third-party cookieA cookie set by a service provider that helps us run part of the Services.
Similar technologiesLocal storage, session storage, pixels, tags and software development kits that store or read information on your device in much the same way as a cookie.

The lifetimes given in the next section are maximums. A cookie may be shorter-lived, and you can delete any of them at any time.

3. The Four Categories We Use

We use exactly four categories. If a cookie does not fit one of these four, we do not set it.

Category What it does Default How long it lasts
Strictly necessary Signs you in and keeps you signed in, protects your account and the Services against fraud and abuse, remembers that you have passed the 18+ gate so you are not asked repeatedly, balances load, and stores the cookie choices you make on this page. The Services do not work without these. Always on. Shown as locked in the cookie controls and cannot be switched off. Session, up to 12 months.
Analytics Counts visits and measures how pages and features are used, how long they take to load, and where errors occur, so we can fix and improve them. Used in aggregate. We do not use analytics cookies to build a profile for advertising. Off until you switch it on. Up to 24 months.
Marketing Measures how our campaigns and referral links perform, records which campaign brought you to us, and lets us personalise the promotional messages you see on the Services. If this category is off, none of it happens. Off until you switch it on. Up to 12 months.
Functional Remembers preferences that make the Services easier to use, such as language, locale, layout and display settings. Turning this off does not stop you using the Services; it means we ask you for those preferences again. Off until you switch it on. Up to 12 months.

🍪 What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information through cookies, and we do not set analytics, marketing or functional cookies before you consent. Turning every optional category off leaves you with the strictly necessary category only.

4. Your Controls & What Is On by Default

4.1 The default position

When you first arrive, only strictly necessary cookies are set. Analytics, marketing and functional cookies are off by default and stay off until you consent to them. Closing the cookie banner, ignoring it, or continuing to browse is not consent. Nothing optional is set until you actively switch it on.

4.2 How you choose

  • Accept every category, reject every optional category, or turn categories on and off one at a time. Each optional category is independent of the others.
  • The strictly necessary category is shown as locked, so you can see what it covers even though you cannot switch it off.
  • Change your mind whenever you like through the cookie controls on the Services. A new choice replaces the previous one from the moment you save it.
  • When you withdraw consent for a category, we stop setting cookies in that category, and the cookies already in it stop being used for that purpose.

4.3 Everyone, everywhere

These controls are offered to every visitor in every country, in the same form. We do not gate them by region, by IP address, or by any assessment of which laws apply to you.

5. What We Record When You Choose

Each time you save a cookie choice, we write a consent record so that we can show what you agreed to and when. For every consent event we record:

  • the categories you granted — which of analytics, marketing and functional you switched on, and which you left off;
  • the timestamp of the event; and
  • the version of this Cookie Policy that was in force when you made the choice.

Consent records are kept as an append-only history. A later choice does not erase an earlier one; it is added alongside it, so the record of what you agreed to at the time stays intact. This is why our Privacy Policy qualifies the right to deletion: consent records and records we are required by law to keep are carved out of a deletion request.

You can ask us for a copy of your consent records at privacy@flowerpuss.global.

6. When We Ask You Again

A cookie choice does not last forever. We ask you again in two situations:

  1. When the version of this Cookie Policy changes. If we publish a new version, your previous choice no longer covers what the new version describes, so we ask you to make it again.
  2. At least every 12 months. Even if nothing changes, we re-ask so that a choice you made a long time ago is not treated as an answer you would still give today.

Until you answer, analytics, marketing and functional cookies return to off. Your earlier consent records are kept; the new answer is recorded as a fresh consent event under section 5.

7. Cookie Consent vs Account Consents

Your cookie choices are separate from the consents you give when you create an account. Turning the marketing cookie category on does not sign you up for marketing email, and agreeing to receive email does not switch on any cookie.

7.1 Three separate controls at signup

At registration you are asked for three things, each of which you can refuse on its own:

  • Age — that you are 18 or older. This one is mandatory; you cannot use the Services without it.
  • Terms — acceptance of our Terms of Service and the policies they incorporate. Also mandatory.
  • Marketing — whether you want marketing email from us. Entirely optional.

Marketing consent is never bundled with the others and is never pre-ticked. Refusing it does not affect your account.

7.2 Double opt-in for marketing email

If you ask for marketing email, we write the consent record when you submit the form, and your address only reaches our email platform after you confirm it from the message we send you. If you never confirm, we never market to you. The fields captured in that process are set out in our Privacy Policy.

8. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by service providers that run part of the Services for us, such as hosting and security. Those cookies sit in the same four categories as our own and follow the same rules: if a provider’s cookie belongs to the analytics, marketing or functional category, it is not set until you switch that category on.

We do not name individual providers on this page. Naming a provider we have not finished integrating would be misleading, and the list would be wrong within weeks. Where a provider is confirmed and integrated, it is published through the Legal Centre, which carries the standing notice on providers and payment methods.

We do not permit providers to use cookies set through the Services for their own independent purposes.

9. Browser & Device Controls

9.1 Your browser

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or clear them when you close the window. These controls sit outside our Services and apply to every site you visit. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the Services from working, including sign-in.

Deleting cookies also deletes the cookie that stores your choices, so we will ask you to choose again the next time you visit.

9.2 Your device

Your device or operating system may offer further controls over advertising identifiers and tracking. Those settings are managed by your device maker, not by us.

9.3 Do Not Track and similar browser signals

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” or similar preference signal. There is no single agreed standard for how a site should interpret those signals, so we do not treat them as a substitute for the controls described in section 4. In practice the outcome is the same either way: analytics, marketing and functional cookies are off unless you switch them on here.

10. Changes, Questions & Contact

We update this Cookie Policy when our cookies, our technology or the law change. Each version carries a version number, an effective date and a last-updated date at the top of this page. A version change triggers re-consent under section 6, so you will always be asked again before a new version is relied on.

Questions about this Policy, or a request for a copy of your consent records, go to our privacy address. Compliance enquiries are answered within 7 business days.
